Trust and Anxiety (Proverbs 3:5)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5) I am just wondering, does that exclude anyone of us? Anxiety is one of the number one mental problem in the world. Some statistics from around the world show that in the world and US anxiety disorders go up to close to 18% of the entire population. https://anxietyhub.org It still doesn't mean that the rest of us don't worry. In this verse, we see a split between "trust" and leaning on your own understanding. Now I am going to say that word that is being disliked more and more in this world.  It is "sin" to lean on our own understanding for anything. I am not saying that, but God is saying in his Word and in my spirit.  Whenever you lean on your understanding , you loose your peace.  Whenever you loose your peace if you are a Christian, your eyes stop looking and focusing on the Lord and that is sin.  Whenever you get out of the light of his presence, you become

Facing an All-knowing God (Psalm 119:168)

Yes, I obey your commandments and decrees, because you know everything I do. (Psalm 119:168) Here the writer of this psalm whom I think is king David gives us the answer on what our obedience to God should be based on and that is on God's all-knowing attribute of us. To be honest with you, I don't like it when God knows everything about me and my first reaction is the same one Adam and Eve demonstrated to Him shortly after creation.  I want to hide from him even just because... But his knowledge of me and what I do has its benefits, he protects me and helps me when I am in trouble.  I should be wanting him to know all about me like a sheep would be more comfortable knowing that the shepherd knows its whereabouts at all time. As sheep we don't want to be in the light, but for our sake we should be. Our level of commitment is totally equal to our awareness of the knowledge that we want God to have of us.  If we are 100% committed to him, we will not mind being known 100% by

Who is the Church? (Ephesians 5:25-27)

...He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by baptism and God's word.  He did this to present her to himself without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish.  Instead she will be holy and without fault. (Ephesians 5:25-27) She is not a woman clothed with disheveled and burned attire who is weak and frail.  The Church is the Bride of Christ, glorious and white without blemish that Christ shall be welcoming back into heaven. She is not your ever decreasing nominal congregation, but she is the multitudes of saints from the nations represented before the Throne of the Glorious One worshipping in unison of ground-breaking chorus. She is as glorious as a bride at a kingly wedding ready to meet her royal groom. Do you see yourself as such in the face of what the world is throwing at you right now with the rise of Covid-19?  You must arise from this defeated state and grab as it were, the bull by the horn and chase the hope that is before you.  It won't come eas

Don't be controlled by Anger! (Psalm 4:4) (Ephesians 4:26-27)

Don't sin by letting anger gain control over you.  Think about it overnight and remain silent. And "don't sin by letting anger gain control over you".  Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a mighty foothold to the Devil. Hello to you all, today we are talking about anger.  When we look at our world around us it is obviously still an issue with many people.  One does not understand the other and get angry!  It just doesn't make sense. The passage in Ephesians is merely quoting Psalm 4:4 back over again, but then it adds something that almost contradicts it.  " Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry".  While in Psalm 4:4, we are allowed to still think about it! Would that look like a bit of a contradiction to you? Why do you or don't you think that way?  Of course, in my heart of hearts I believe the Word of God never contradict itself. Does that mean that the anger is only shown through the emotio

Give it all you have got! (1 Peter 4:1)

So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too, for if you are willing to suffer for Christ, you have decided to stop sinning.   (1 Peter 4:1) As  a pastor was preaching about loving God with all your heart and loving your neighbor as well.  My mind wondered again to that verse in 1Peter 4:1 saying that I must be ready and willing to suffer like Christ did.  The puzzle was now complete in its entirety as loving God with all of my heart is equal to loving my neighbor as myself.  It is all connected to that willingness to suffer and give it all you have got.  It is first of all, a willingness to suffer rather than, suffering itself, and it's  a willingness to suffer for a holy result and boldness in my own life.  It is a willingness to suffer in exchange for some fruit of holy favor and flavor. It is not even if you would ever suffer, a suffering that disappoint you, but gives you hope in greater propo

While You Were Watching! (1 John 4:4)

(Satan is not the main actor in this play of life, he sometimes work in the background of our lives. Covid-19 is mostly a spiritual attack.  The Church are the warriors.) While you were watching at the window of this world, television.  Covid-19 came up!  Fear gripped you and here was an enemy bigger than the world and bigger than you. Without even you, noticing, the backdoor was waiting to be open and in came the real enemy of your soul, Satan! The plague you were watching was only an image of the real plague that was going to attack your soul. Rendering you weak and inefficient in the Lord’s service and dividing your church. He murmured to your ears like he does all the time, only now to announce to you the end of all things has come.  But greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.   Hope is not all gone for the saints.  Remember the day of your salvation when you were a new shoot in the Lord’s hand.  He held you so proud and, back then, you were in love, nothing co
