Self Control (Don't let it scare you)

“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others],   joy [inner] peace , patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting],   kindness, goodness,   faithfulness,   gentleness,   self-control.   Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)   The Danger of being without it We see the danger that this world has encountered while having no self control.   Please understand that self control is not just related to how much you take on your plate at dinner time.   Self control may even make you cringe as you consider the self discipline you will have to endure.   Simplicity It is not necessarily like that; it is first also produced by God’s Spirit in your life and so it can be taught to you by that same Spirit.   It could be as simple as holding your tongue from speaking certain words.   Having your whole body voluntarily controlled by the Holy Spirit.   It comes from a dail

Beauty in Faith

Law vs. Faith   Many in the world are motivated by the Law.  Continually pushed and shoved around by what they should and should not do.  The voice of legalism ruling in their churches and religions.  There are a lot of false religions in this world.  We must be aware that there is only one possible path to God.  It is narrowed not by rules and obligations but by the commandments of Jesus.  To love others as we make this path the narrowest there is.  Living by faith fulfills the command of love and faith is the only way you are going to please God (Hebrews 11:6).  Without faith it is impossible to please God.  The obedience to the Law does not fulfill.  It is belief in him that cause one to live by faith.    The Beauty of Faith   The beauty of faith is the freedom you will find in God after you start loving him and obeying his voice. Jesus should be the Only One to be worshipped by you.  It is no longer God or Jesus and something else to be worshipped.  Jesus Christ

Who is your father? (John 8:31-44)

Jesus said to the people who believed in him, "You are truly my disciples if you keep obeying my teachings.  And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." "But we are descendants of Abraham," they said. "We have never been slaves to anyone on earth.  What do you mean,  'set free'?" Jesus replied, "I assure  you that everyone who sins is a slave of sin.  A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever.  So if the Son sets you free, you will indeed be free.  Yes, I realize that you are descendants of Abraham.  And yet some of you are trying to kill me because my message does not find a place in your hearts.  I am telling you what I saw when I was when I was with my Father.  But you are following the advice of your father." "Our father is Abraham," they declared. "No," Jesus replied,  "for if you were children of Abraham, you would follow his good example.&quo

What Would Jesus Do?

As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and Pharisees brought a woman they had caught in the the act of adultery.  They put her in front of the crowd.                                                 "Teacher," they said to Jesus, 'this woman was caught in the very act of adultery.  The law of Moses says to stone her.  What do you say?'                                                                                      They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger.'                                                                                  They kept demanding and answer, so he stood up again and said, "All right, stone her.  But let those who have never sinned throw the first stones!"                                                                       Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.                   When the accusers heard t
