Hosea 6:1-3 Come, let us return to the Lord!

"Come, let us return to the Lord!  He has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us.  He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds.  In just a short time, he will restore us so we can live in his presence.  Oh that we might know the Lord!  Let us press on to know him!  Then he will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring." Come, let us return to the Lord!  Listen to this invitation, he is not begging anyone.  This is the Lord who is Almighty.  He does not really need anyone to carry on but he knows, first of all his own wrath and his own mercy,  He has set it up so that in reality you need him to be your Father and be happy in life.  He is inviting you to have fellowship, to be one with him.  There are millions of angels rejoicing when one human joins the Father in Heaven.  The best thing that could ever happen to anybody.  The return of the Prodigal son or daughter.  The freedom of one human is priceless to heaven and to the Fa

Mark 5:27-29, 5:34 Jesus... More than a Swear Word!

She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched the fringe of his robe.  For she thought to herself, “If I could only touch his clothing, I will be healed.”  Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel that she had been healed”.... … And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. You have been healed.” This woman had been sick for quite a while, gone through many doctors and she had spent all she had. But it says that she had become worse. Do you imagine the hopelessness of the situation. How is your situation? Is it getting better or worse? She had heard about Jesus ,but notice, that didn’t make things better for her. It didn’t change a thing except made her more curious. Maybe you have heard about Jesus and that made you curious. Maybe you also have a hopeless situation you can’t get out of.  If that’s you go ahead let your guards down and step into the crowd where Jesus is. No one notices you, they are there j

Ezekiel 37:11-13 What is your grave?

Then he said to me, "Son of man, these bones represent the people of Israel.  They are saying , 'We have become old, dry bones--- all hope is gone. ' Now give them this message from the Sovereign Lord: O my people, I will open your graves of exile and cause you to rise again.  Then I will bring you back to the land of Israel When this happens, O my people, you will know that I am the Lord. ( Emphasis added) It's interesting how throughout the history of Israel how God's people have struggled through testing of all kinds.  Here they are going through the exile which was a time of great despair and hopelessness.  They probably felt distanced from the rest of the world.  They sure didn't feel like God's chosen people at the best of time because they were saying: 'We have become old, dry bones---all hope is gone.' When people go through trials, they naturally speak but do they hear themselves say things that negate the promises of God for their live

Daniel 7:9,10 and end of verse 14 The Last Word

I watched as thrones  were put in place and the Ancient One sat down to judge.  His clothing was as white as snow, his hair like whitest wool.  He sat on a fiery throne with wheels of blazing fire, and a river of fire flowed from his presence.  Millions of angels ministered to him, and a hundred million stood to attend him.  Then the court began its session, and the books were opened.... ( The end of verse 14 now) ....His rule is eternal---it will never end.  His kingdom will never end. A short comment about this passage.  It's a solemn passage that reaches deep into each man and woman's soul.  Nothing else will matter then but to be in good standing with the One who judges.  This final question: " Did I do well for my Master?"...Should be your first one today.  It causes me to examine myself right now and ask: "How well did I do?"  Was it fluff or concrete?  Will it withstand the test of time?  "The books were opened" ...do you feel the suspen

John 14:27 Peace is a gift for you

I am leaving you with a gift--peace of mind and heart.  And the peace I give is not like the peace the world gives.  So don't be troubled or afraid. “Shalom”, this was the special blessing and greeting that Jews would offer to each other.  Here, Jesus just gives it to us. Today, it’s the same in the world, peace is considered a special and rare commodity. Actors in Hollywood would give a lot of their wealth just to have a bit of peace. People practice meditation of all types just to get into peace (relaxation). Drug addicts spend their fortune which they acquire mostly, from stealing just to get a puff of peace. Peace, just consider it for a minute. It could be free coming from God, but it would be costly at the same time anyone would have to give up stuff like bad habits, etc...A man  or a woman need to be challenged by peace. I can tell you that many people are impatient in waiting rooms because of lack of peace, it’s hard to experience peace at a time like that unless you lea

Isaiah 26:3,4

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose thoughts are fixed on you!  Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord for the Lord is the eternal Rock. Are you concerned about your mind? In social media I seem to see a lot of content and concerns about peace of mind. The Bible in this verse seems to give me a clue about what causes lack of peace in our mind and that is lack of focus, a wondering mind has never peace. It gives the solution: focus on God because he is Peace. It sounds too simple to the intellect and to a self-dependant society it is almost unbearable. We want to figure out our own problems and deal with them. But the answer is for us to trust in the one who is in charge, God himself. Could you please refer to him for your mind?  He is the one who made it and he can give you peace. Have a great day!
