Love can be a struggle

Sometimes, I think I am the only one who struggles to love…but no, I am not the only one. The proof is that in this world and everywhere there are conflicts, divorces, abuses of every kind.   If love was not a struggle everyone would get along just fine.   Even church people struggle with it.   Why? Because life and love were never meant or said to be easy.   When you think the greatest man that ever-lived sweated blood before going and dying on a cross for us.   Love should be a struggle. It should be a sacrifice.   It should cost you something or it’s not love.   Love cannot be stagnant, it must stay fresh, always active or you lose it.   If you struggle in loving people, you are not alone.   In my past, I have had jobs where I had to work with chocolate.   Yes, I know someone had to do it.   Working with chocolate is easy, you must know a few rules about chocolate.   It melts easy to a certain temperature and then you...

Hearing From God

We need more teenagers…No, let me rephrase this…We need more teenagers (and adults) that will hear God and what He has to say to us and for us. The prophet Daniel was just an ordinary teenager who had desires like any others.   Little is known about his personal history or upbringing, aside from the fact that he was among the Jews exiled to Babylon and likely received comprehensive instruction in the Law, which was traditionally committed to memory. We find him along with his three companions ready to be trained by the officials of the king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar.   In the first chapter of the book of Daniel he along with his friends are given new names along with other strange foods fit for a king.   But they refuse to eat it because they do not want to defile themselves. So, they can arrange for a diet of strictly vegetables.   I suppose, this fast would allow them to gain spiritual insights and strength in obedience to their God.   Here, I believ...

World system vs. Jesus and his followers (John 15:19-22)

“The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world.  I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.  Do you remember what I told you? ‘A slave is not greater than the master.’  Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you.  If they had listened to me, they would listen to you.  They will do all this to you because of me, for they have rejected the one who sent me.  They would not be guilty if I had not come and spoken to them.  But now they have no excuse for their sin.” (John 15:19-22) If the Christians and Christianity were part of the world system, the world would obey our teachings from Jesus.   In its own way, the world system shows us its dislike and, in many ways, does not respect Jesus Christ as they use him as a swear word. Overall, we must be more careful of what we do with the name of Jesus Christ and respect him by the way we live and talk. Wh...

Putting Money in its Place

In this world where everything is focused on making a living and getting ahead, it can be challenging for a Christian to keep his or her focus on God. Let us face it, who does not around here worry about money?   I was until this morning when God dropped some concept in my mind.   Where is your money sitting right now in your heart? Is it on the throne of your heart? Do you worry a lot about money? We all do at one time or another...but this morning it stopped for me as God showed me what money was really supposed to be in my life. He simply said: “Money is an accessory.” Comparing it to a woman who likes to wear jewelry or makeup or have a nice purse. All those are merely accessories. Something that is added. I looked at the definition and that is what it was. Money is not a necessity ; it is an accessory something that is added in your life by God. Matthew 6:33 says: “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be ...
