A Time like No Other

I do not usually venture in prophetic matters; I just observe the world around me and draw my conclusions. 1)       Evidence We see all around us evidence of the world destroying itself, but everything seems alright, they say.   We see robots replacing humans everywhere and yet we say nothing and see nothing.   There is a great chance that that plane you flying on will be piloted by a robot.   Not sure of what I am talking about…There is a company in the States, building human robots to order.   The company is called Cyberlife.   You can already order a woman who can do housework or order a doctor or anything you wish. 2)       This is not a time to lose hope, it is a time to thrive and obey God. To wait and endure The time that the prophet Daniel talked about is closely coming upon us.   I am reading the end of the book in chapter 12 where Daniel was told the words but not understanding them in vers...

This Hope is Like an Anchor (Hebrews 6:19-20)

It must be that as a Christian my hope was not yet solid .  I suffered depression and suicidal thoughts .   It was like a downward spiral pulling me under like the time I almost drowned in the Italian waters of a lake when I was 10 years of age.   During my depression, I realized hope was not my anchor like it says in Hebrews 6:19-20 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.   It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.   Jesus has already gone in there for us.   He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. Purpose of this post It is to show you how wonderful the Bible is, and its words are so accurate in meaning.   Hope is alive.   Our hope is alive and wonderful, it is precisely an anchor and not just a wishful thinking that per chance it is going to take place.   Our hope is solid like an anchor, and it is unmoveable.   Believe me you need it amid the storm of despair t...

Finding the Resting Place (Hebrews 4:3-12)

As I was preparing this post , I shared with my spouse that we were only here in this temporary place for another year and a half.  Which offers the perfect platform for what I write in this post.  What will you do next? Someone may ask and as crazy as this may seem we can confidently answer.  We don’t know but the One who holds the world in his hands knows. You see, even though this may sound like a shaky deal it is not… it is as firm as a block of concrete in the ground.   On the contrary, what the world has to offer is fleeting like a house build in the sandy foundation. I base my assurance on the faith in the God who can move mountains.   My faith rests in Him.   That is where my rest comes from.   In trusting the unmoveable and unshakable God who is All Powerful.   The Israelites could have tapped in him, but they chose to worry and not believe. Because the Holy Spirit dwells in you can do better and believe.   Faith is the victory t...

Let's Celebrate Hope (Romans 15:13) (2Peter 3:9)

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, So that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13) It has come to my attention that as a New Testament believer there needs to be more celebration happening in my life.   Although, there is a difference between partying and celebrating.   Partying can get out of control, but with celebration it must be done with order.   We seem to know how to celebrate different holidays.   I had just like to give it a different spin.   Life and hope must be celebrated during the holidays or any day of the year.   Whether we are believers or not, life and hope can always be celebrated because whether you like it or not you have both by the simple fact you are here alive and healthy.   God is so merciful to all of us because if he was not this whole world, we are on would not survive very long.   I am so fortunate to have his Mercy in my life.   Becau...

Exciting Growth (Proverbs 19:16)

Exciting Growth The hope of exciting growth always comes after strong hardship, does it not? Here in the part of Canada where I live, we have the harshest of winter (-40’C) which is like the hardship to the ground and us.   Then comes Spring in all its beauty and elegance.   A short Spring but nice and then now we are in the Summer which is a moment of growth for the fruits and plants and vegetables.   Notice that before the period of growth and renewal we have the hardship of Winter.   It is the same in life.   Our lives are made up of seasons and years and months.   We have weeks and days and hours.   Everything is broken up in stages and it is up to us to make these seasons valuable.   Those breaks count.   Make your life count but break it up in stages.   Plan accordingly and carefully.   This is the advice of a 66-year-old senior who has experienced it.   I am not all wisdom, but I have some wisdom. You cannot l...

Hang in There

From my heart to yours   All Christians struggle - even if we all have big smiles on our faces.   We just don’t want the world to see our sufferings.   But if you are a Christian doing the will of God you should suffer because the world does not know him who lives in you (John 14:17)   Furthermore, we all have our hang ups and we do not always feel 100% Okay all the time.   We are not robots and we do not try to be.   Even robots do not work perfectly, ask a computer technician.   Whoever you are and in whatever situation you find yourself in…Tell yourself this: “It is not the end of my world and things will work out as they always do.”   Inexhaustible hope   God’s kind of hope cannot be exhausted. If you have Jesus in, you there is hope.  It is only ‘unbelief’ that limits that hope from flourishing.   Foremost, love should be sought and practiced as it will last forever (1 Corinthians 13:8-10)   En...

The Joy in Suffering (1 Peter 4:1-3) (1 Peter 4:12-17)

So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer too.  For if you are willing to suffer for Christ , you have decided to stop sinning.  And you won't spend the rest of your life chasing after evil desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God.  You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy---their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols. I have really enjoyed this epistle written that the Apostle Peter wrote for us.  Even more so now,  he gives us in these preceding verses, I think the key to holy living.  The important words are underlined: no where he says that we will suffer as to scare us, but that we must be willing and ready to suffer.  Some of us suffer, but we are not willing or ready.  I mean here, insults from anyone we come in contact with.  Whe...

Salvation! (1 Peter 1:10-12)

This salvation was something the prophets wanted to know more about.  They prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you, even though they had many questions as to what it all could mean.  They wondered what the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ's suffering and his great glory afterward.  They wondered when and to whom all this would happen.  They were told that these things would not happen during their lifetime, but many years later, during yours.  And now this Good News has been announced by those who preached to you in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven.  It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.   How exciting it is to see that this Apostle of Hope, Peter is the one who was used to launch the Church into Pentecost and now through his writings is the one to usher us into this salvation that is still to come.  The salvation ...

God Speaks (Isaiah 46:4)

I will be your God throughout your lifetime---until your hair is white with age.  I made you, and I will care for you.  I will carry you along and save you. I marked my Bible that day! It was on the eve of my 53rd Birthday.  On November 19, 2009. When God speaks words like that I like to record them.  To me, they are life and they are important.  They will give me hope through hard times.  God's promises always offer us rest for our soul.  Because we forget we have to record it. As some of you know, I have struggled through with my mental illness.  I believe because 'life' was spoken through in my spirit, this word carried me through the challenges I have been through.  Even without me making a conscious effort to remember that specific word.  I believe that every promise that God speaks to us personally through our time with him is a seed that is planted in our heart that day and from it flourishes life, hope and rest. If that pro...

PAUSE! Interpretation explained! (Hebrews 6:19) (NIV)

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.  It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. Well, I hope you had a great day yesterday and today. The foundation of the Word is faith.  Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2 NLT) "We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish" (the KJV says the Author).  Faith can be translated or interpreted to be Hope which in the Epistle to the Hebrews is described as an anchor.  An anchor is what keeps a boat in the place you want it to be, steady even in the storm.(Hebrews 6:19) On that foundation of faith we built. There is a thread running through the Bible, it is red and it represent, blood.  The blood of Jesus that was shed for us.  That thread appears in the book of Joshua as Rahab puts it by her window (Joshua 2:17-21).  It's there as a sign of salvation to her family.  The family of a prostitute, a Gentile and a descend...

Standing in the Furnace (Daniel 3:20-25)

Then he ordered some of the strongest men of his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace.  So they tied them up and threw them into the furnace, fully dressed in their pants, turbans, robes, and other garments.  And because the king in his anger, had demanded such a hot fire in the furnace, the flames killed the soldiers as they threw the three men in.  So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, securely tied, fell into the roaring flames. But suddenly, Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in amazement and exclaimed to his advisers, "Didn't we tie three men and throw them into the furnace?" "Yes, Your Majesty, we certainly did," they replied. "Look!" Nebuchadnezzar shouted. "I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god* (Aramaic 'like a son of gods', who is thought to be Jesus, the Son of God which this appearance in the Old Testament of Christ is called a 'Chri...
