Giving Thanks for the Brotherhood

As I read more from my Amplified Bible than any other translation, I am now reminded to thank God for all my brothers and sisters.  It is even a moral obligation according to it.

As you read 2 Thessalonians 1:3 the writer Paul is very strict and tells them:

“We ought always and indeed are morally obligated [as those in debt] to give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is fitting, because your faith is growing ever greater, and the [unselfish] love of each one of you toward one another is continually increasing.”

We hope Thanksgiving Day is a very special day for you in the States as you thank the Lord for all His blessings in your life… Especially give thanks for all your brothers and sisters around the world and not only this day but throughout the year.

Give thanks especially for your health and that you made it another year.

Furthermore, Paul repeat his exhortation is chapter 2:13 of the same letter and add a few more words: “But we should and [morally] obligated [as debtors] always to give thanks to God for you, believers beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for the salvation through the sanctifying work of the Spirit [that sets you apart for God’s purpose] and by your faith in the truth [of God’s word that leads you to spiritual maturity].

It seems that even in the Amplified version of the Bible, Paul’s every word carry some weight and are valuable to us in our social and spiritual life.  Our relationships that we have in the household of faith are to be jealously guarded because of the price Jesus paid on the Cross.

More than ever, we should long for our home in Heaven even more now that we will have a better fellowship than we have now lasting throughout eternity.

Let us not live like the world as to our fellowship with other believers.  We have something very special in the bond of faith and let us value it highly.

Let us give thanks to God for all of them and take none of them for granted!
