Exciting Growth (Proverbs 19:16)

Exciting Growth The hope of exciting growth always comes after strong hardship, does it not? Here in the part of Canada where I live, we have the harshest of winter (-40’C) which is like the hardship to the ground and us.   Then comes Spring in all its beauty and elegance.   A short Spring but nice and then now we are in the Summer which is a moment of growth for the fruits and plants and vegetables.   Notice that before the period of growth and renewal we have the hardship of Winter.   It is the same in life.   Our lives are made up of seasons and years and months.   We have weeks and days and hours.   Everything is broken up in stages and it is up to us to make these seasons valuable.   Those breaks count.   Make your life count but break it up in stages.   Plan accordingly and carefully.   This is the advice of a 66-year-old senior who has experienced it.   I am not all wisdom, but I have some wisdom. You cannot live your life twice but make it count the first time.   Save mon

Moment of Truth (Luke 23:38-43)

Moment of Truth (Luke 23:38-43)   Many times, while Jesus was condemned, he was challenged on his ability to save himself if he was…the king or the Messiah (v.38,39) Because of ignorance, many did not know the purpose of Jesus was to save the world, namely you and me.   He came as the Saviour of the world, and he was not going to deviated from that mission.   Now that he was on that Cross with some criminal, he had to die to fulfill that mission to completion.   This was nothing more than a temptation from Satan to stop him short of his goal.   Do you find that Satan tries that one on you too stopping you short of your goal sometime? You see, you are not alone in your temptations, the whole world and especially Jesus had to go through them as well. The one criminal who was crucified with Jesus did not fear God or respected him at all.   He was the one who challenged Jesus to save himself if he was the Messiah. But the other criminal acknowledged Jesus’s innocence and was sa

The Battle Within (Romans 6:16)

The Battle Within Here at home, I do some shores and one of them is washing dishes.  As it happened, I was having my devotion time with the Lord.  In the back of my mind, I was also thinking about washing the dishes. During that time, I waited on the Lord, which meant waiting for his timing.   Instead of rushing from my quiet time to wash the dishes.   Finally, through his voice in my spirit he prompted me to start the dishes. It made me think of this incident between Martha and Mary (Luke 10:38-42) Martha was busy with the shores around the home and Mary had chosen to spend time at the feet of Jesus.   In verse 42 Jesus even tells Martha that Mary has chosen what is better. I suppose there need to be a balance, we could be so busy that we forget to spend time with Jesus or vice versa.   The balance comes with practice.   As for myself I have been a Christian for over 40 years, and I am still learning from him the obedience to His Spirit’s promptings.   The solution is to
