Opinions are Just Opinions

Opinions are just Opinions

As I share with you my heart, I like to share my God.  It opens me to be honest with you and sometimes I may be seen by some of you as being opiniated but am I?

I want to share the Bible and because of this I might share what I find in it as best as I can interpret it even if it does not agree with present society.  Yes, the Bible does not always agree with my opinions.  Opinions are only valid if they agree with the Truth of the Bible.  If opinions are lies, would you not agree that they need to be discarded.

In Matthew 12:9-13

Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, and a man with the shriveled hand was there.  Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus, they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”

He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out?  How much more valuable is a person than a sheep!  Therefore, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”  Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.”  So, he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other.

Following this event, you would think everyone would have been happy but not the Pharisees.  They were furious because of their opinions…As far as they were concerned, their laws had been broken but they didn’t take in consideration what Jesus had told them.  In today’s world there are many people with an opinion but not with the Truth of Jesus.

Later, (Matthew 12:22-32) we see that they went as far as discrediting Jesus’s ministry and told him he did his miracles by Satan’s power itself.  He warned them against speaking against the Holy Spirit which is the same as attributing the works of God as being the works of the devil.  It is in God’s eyes very offensive and deserves punishment and as far as I know is the sin that will never be forgiven by God.

So, to say that a strong opinion could end spiralling you downward is possible.  We must be careful about them.

I think this is a warning worth sharing with someone.
