Poetry Lovers: A Good Friend
A Good Friend
He can wait a moment.
He listens and waits for
his turn
He does not rush into
things or friendships.
He is kind and not harsh,
He is sensitive to your
needs.
He is kind, but not blind,
He will let you know
gently.
He does not want what you
have,
He wants your best.
If you have done your
best,
He is happy for you.
He does not think he is
so special,
And that he is better
than yourself.
He can let you win and
not be hurt,
He wants to serve you,
you are the best.
A good friend is always
courteous,
He is a true gentle man.
His words are full of
wisdom,
And his actions shows it.
With his own interests
and likes.
He does not try to manipulate
you,
In doing what he wants to
do.
It is not easy for him to
become angry,
He would rather talk
about it right away.
If you have done
something wrong to him,
He forgets it, he keeps a
short list.
A good friend will not
laugh at you,
Especially, if you get
hurt.
He will always encourage
you,
And help you succeed.
Even when others have
turned away,
Because the going for you
was rough.
You know you have a good
friend,
If he is one who stays.
