God’s mercy to the Gentiles (Romans 11:28-32)

Many of the Jews are now enemies of the Good News.  But it has been to your benefit, for God has given his gifts to you Gentiles.  Yet the Jews are still his chosen people because of his promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  For God's gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.  Once, you Gentiles were rebels against God, but when the Jews refused his mercy, God was merciful to you instead.  And now, in the same way, the Jews are the rebels, and God's mercy has come to you.  But someday they, too, will share in God's mercy.  For God has imprisoned all people in their own disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone.(Romans 11:28-32)

This might feel like a different post. I felt necessary to let my fellow Gentiles know that the gifts God has given us are not to be taken for granted.  For a time now, God has turned the Jews over to their rebellion.  In order that he might show them mercy again before he returns after they repent. Supernaturally, he did this for the sake of the Gentiles.  The Jews are still his chosen people because of the promise to the Patriarchs. Instead, God has chosen to be merciful to the Gentiles.  All people who are non-Jews are Gentiles and the terms are the same for everyone.

I encourage you who are Gentiles like me, not to take for granted the blessings and the gifts God has bestowed upon you and press on into the salvation God has so generously provided through Christ by his death on the Cross. (Time is running out)

Afterworth, press on to run for the prize set before us, Do your work for the Lord with a willing heart and be full of the Spirit.  Meaning by that, giving to all people the same gift of mercy (what they don't deserve) that God gave you.
