My New Home
If then you have been raised with Christ,
seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of
God. Set you minds on things that are
above, not on things that are on earth.
For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then
you also will appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:1-4)
Not that I should even ask if you Christians are of
the earth or of heaven? Here Paul makes
it very clear that our thoughts should be focused on heaven where Christ is
with God our heavenly Father in a place of authority. Does this mean then that if our minds and
hearts are not geared toward heaven we would be robbed of that authority?
Most assuredly, if your minds are on earthly things,
you become weak in every way and your life is not worth being called a
‘Christian life’. You are then living
the same as the world.
It is easy to get caught up in the things of the world
without a vision of heaven but look! Do
you see yourself now with Christ at the right hand of the Father. If not, in your imagination plan a trip there
and see yourself partaking with them in glory.
Your true life is your life with Christ and nothing
less. In Him, there is an abundant life
of freedom and patience as well as true joy as you experience the unequalled
benefit of this life.
There is nothing that can hold you back except fear of
not pleasing other people and find yourself being ridiculed for the cause of
Christ. Go for it! Jump into the unknown which is now not really
unknown since you trust God. If we trust God the unknown should not be
feared as he takes us by the hand through his plan.
