God loves you (John 3;16-18)

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life.  God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. There is no judgment awaiting those who trust him.  But those who do not trust him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God. I like these verses in this chapter 3 of John.  The whole chapter would be good for anyone to read.  It's a dialogue with Nicodemus, one of the religious leader of that time who was curious about who Jesus was.  One of the most important verse in the Gospel, if not the whole Bible is John 3:16 and yet it still needs to be meditated upon for insight. Questions like:  1) What is God's love?                            2) How can he be mad at me if he loves me?                            3) What did it mean to God to give his only Son in order to love the world? First of all, God's love is very beautiful and pure.  So much so that

Jesus Christ is the Rock Foundation Matthew 7:24-27

Anyone who listens to my teaching and obeys me is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.  Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse, because it is build on rock.  But anyone who hears my teaching and ignores it is foolish. like a person who builds a house on sand.  When the rains and  floods come and the winds beat against that house, it falls with a mighty crash. Jesus concludes his sermon on the mountain with these words.  He claims that anyone who follows his teachings and obey him will build his house wisely.  Anyone who does not care about his teachings and do it his own way will basically go bankrupted and lose everything he has.   We don't have to look very far sometimes.  I look at my own life and I realize I could have listened  more closely to his teaching and obeyed them instead of at times doing it my own way.   But we have one life to live and some people think that the best w

All mankind knows that God exists Romans 1:18-20

But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who push the truth away from themselves.  For the truth about God is known to them instinctively.  God has put this knowledge in their hearts.  From time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God has made.  They can clearly see his invisible qualities---his eternal power and divine nature.  So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God. God's anger is not like human anger because it pleads for all mankind to plead for them to come to back to him.  It's more like a strong holy disapproval.  It's wicked people who push truth away from themselves.  Not their own made up truth but God's truth and anything that would draw them to himself.  They make a conscious effort to reject him knowing full well that God is the Author and Maker of all things and being created.  I had like to think that mankind is pushing the truth away from itself by introducing all kinds of doc

Prophecies of Jesus's birth (Where and Who?) Micah 5:2 ; Isaiah 7:14

Where was Jesus to be born?  Micah 5:2  Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village in Judah.  Yet a ruler of Israel will come from you, one whose origins are from the distant past. In the Hebrew language, Bethlehem stands for the House of Bread and Ephrathah means "Fruitful" This prophecy is fulfilled in Matthew 2:4-6 . ..Where did the prophet say the Messiah would be born?" he (Herod) asked them. In Bethlehem," they said, "for this is what the prophet wrote: ' O Bethlehem of Judah, You are not just a lowly village in Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel' "  Who was Jesus and was he born from a virgin?  Isaiah 7:14  His name was Immanuel and he was born from the virgin Mary. All right then the Lord himself will choose the sign.  Look! The virgin will conceive a child!  She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel----God is with us' The pro
