Remember Lot's wife! (Luke 17:26-33)
When the Son of Man returns, the world will be like the people were in Noah's day. In those days before the flood, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came to destroy them all.
And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business---eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building---until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. Yes, it will be business as usual right up to the hour when the Son of Man returns. On that day a person outside the house must not go into the house to pack. A person in the field must not return to town. Remember what happened to Lot's wife! Whoever clings to this life will lose it, and whoever loses this life will save it.
Have you noticed in your country or town a renewed confidence in the economy? Or are they still protecting themselves tirelessly from that virus? Here we noticed a new confidence, the town is busier and people are buying and moving. It's good to see that again for sure!
This will be the sign of Jesus's coming back. It will be business as usual as in the days of Noah and Lot.
Very interesting as in both cases, what kept the people from entering the ark was rebellion and unbelief. What kept the people in the cities was their rebellion and unbelief. And what turned unnamed Lot's wife into a pillar of salt was her disobedience.
There was confidence in the economy and party spirit till the time of the end. How tragic?
What kept them all interested in the past was their 'affiliation' to the past. 'Affiliation': What an interesting word. In the dictionary on www.definition.net more precisely the word 'affiliate'; To adopt; to receive into the family as a son: hence to bring or receive into close connection; to ally
What it might mean in my mind is that these people including Lot's wife were aching for the 'bacon'. It's funny! that just came up to me, the bacon meaning the fat of the land in my mind. Turning around for all their wealth and good times left behind . It just reminded me of a few post back when I talked about giving all kinds of excuses for not being at the dinner because the things they were doing were more important to them. Where are our affiliation? Our interests?
Where are we anchored to?
Is it really worth being left behind?
What is here, fun and wealth! What are you going to over there? True wealth and eternal bliss!
A lot is at stake (pardon the pun)
There is a real fight for your soul and who is going to win?
Are you divided now?
Let me help! Do you want to stay here when the Tribulation comes or do you want to be with Jesus forever.
I want to lose my life and not be so busy with it that I miss it.
What about you?
Have a great day!
