Constant Sweetness of the Word (Psalm 119:97-104)
97. Oh, how I love your law! I think about it all day long. 98. Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for your commands are my constant guide. 99. Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your decrees. 100. I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments. 101. I have refused to walk on any path of evil, that I may remain obedient to your word. 102. I haven't turned away from your laws, for you have taught me well. 103. How sweet are your words to my taste; they are sweeter than honey. 104. Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life. (Psalm 119:97-104)
1) Constant delight in the Word (v.97-99)
Constantly thinking upon the Word. They become his priority throughout the day. The Bible makes you wiser than your enemies. You find yourself always a step ahead of them, if you meditate on it all day long.
2) Constant refusal to do evil (v.100-101)
As we constantly think on his Word and commands, we become wiser than the people we associate with. Nevertheless, we have nothing to boast about because it is the Word at work within us. Consequently and in agreement with God's word we refuse the path of evil.
3) Constant teaching from God (v.102-104)
Under God's mighty hand and his voice that breaks the cedar, the psalmist is taught well. He finds out also, as you will, if you study that his word is as sweet as honey.
In conclusion, the word becomes to anyone who loves it a measuring stick or a plumb line keeping you on the true way of life. It is as a result of understanding given by revelation that we can experience the true way of life. For it will be Satan primary task to rob us from that abundant life God has promised us.
