Forgiveness is Necessary (Proverbs 19:11)

(Contemporary English Version)

It's wise to be patient and show what you are like by forgiving others.

Now in my translation, which I hope doesn't confuse some...(Same language said different) it says in the same verse..

(Old, New Living Translation)

People with good sense restrain their anger; they earn esteem by overlooking wrongs.

In other words, being slow to anger is a quality that is rare.  When anger comes be slow with it, think about it and most of the time you can forgive by not letting it take root.  Additionally, you just never know what the other person is going through at the time, give them a break.  Maybe they are under a lot of stress.  Slow down and think first.

Consequently, that is why you need forgiveness by the tons, loads of it.  For yourself and others.  Yes, forgiveness is unfair, but necessary.  Imagine all the dead people out there if there was none.  Forgiveness, you need it with your children and husband or wife, your friend and even on the road.  So many people out there that don't know how to drive, just kidding!

Clearly, what does that verse say again? It is wise...to be patient.  I suppose none of us sign up to be a fool.  Consequently, we want to be wise, of course.  In fact, we need more patient people in this world that show their wisdom.  That's why car accidents happen...lack of patience...lack of wisdom.

Nevertheless, this is the hard part...again with my driving example.  They show who they really like by forgiving others and that works for everything in life.  Ouch!

Next time, you are offended by someone...think before getting angry.  Think about them first!  What is their life like right now?  Is it something you don't know...Maybe pass over with a sponge and skip it.  Don't let the offense take root in your heart.  In the Faithful Version...(more confusion) it says: "It is his glory to pass over a transgression." In other words, it is better for that man or woman to overlook it.  It makes him look better.
