Forgiveness is Unfair (Hebrews 9:13-14)

13. Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow could cleanse people's bodies from ritual defilement.  14. Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our hearts from deeds that lead to death so that we can worship the living God.  For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. (Hebrews 9:13-14)

We all know or as Christians we should know that the blood of animals or even our own blood and tears cannot redeem us.  Only the blood of Christ.  Even more,  Christ he didn't do it just for our salvation, but as a proof of his death, the will?  To show God the evidence of forgiveness by his own blood Hebrews 9:22 "...Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins."

Also, Christ entered heaven once for all time and for all people on our behalf, as our Advocate, in our place.  The Most Holy Place, heaven could not be entered without blood and at his crucifixion, God ripped the curtain from top to bottom for Christ to enter with his blood that we may enter anytime we want (Hebrews 10:19-20)

If we are saved we are washed by the blood.  Furthermore, we have an authorized access to the Most Holy Place, heaven,  by that same blood.  So that when we access the Most Holy Place we are safe to enter the presence of the King. He lifts his scepter allowing us in.

After all, these privileges and forgiveness are all unfair, especially to Christ who is perfect and blameless.  For all he did was for you and me and not for selfish reasons or motives.  In case, you might for once consider that all forgiveness is unfair, you are right in thinking that.  Forgiveness is unfair for all, the receiver and the giver of it.  From God's perspective, we should all die without it and that would be fair.  Rather than doing that though, he unfairly forgives those who accept the work of Christ on the cross.  It is also unfair to Christ because although he is perfect without a splinter in his eye, he chose to forgive the log that was in ours.  As well, from our perspective, yes, forgiveness is unfair.  For here we are facing a perfect God who should not bother with me or us.  He has already arrived as it were.  Creation is there and he could just spend time in eternity and let us suffer the punishment of our sins.  In reality though, he made the U-turn first for us and interrupted eternity and stepped down from his Throne to suffer the Cross.  Is it not all unfair that the Son of God did it all for us?

Finally, let us be grateful for all this forgiveness even though it is so unfair and receive it for no reason except this one.  God is so good from all angles.

If you have any comment, it would be really appreciated from anywhere in the world.  Your soul matters to God and to me. (John 3:16)
