In the Presence of a king (Philippians 2:10-11)
So that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:10-11)
In the presence of a king
Have you ever been in the presence of a king in your life? Once when I was visiting a museum of painted arts in Brussels and I was maybe only 16 years of age, I came close to the king and queen of Belgium. They were dressed simply, but just the knowledge and the recognition that these were the monarch of my country (at the time), filled me with respect for them.
Simply put, how would you react to the presence of a king, especially if he were of your country?
I have not really had an encounter with such people since, but I will always remember the moment of being with a king and a queen.
In the presence of the King of kings
Now, let's just imagine if that very same king would know everything about you. How would you react then? Wouldn't there be a sense of awe and fear in the sense of respect. Let me introduce you to the King of kings, Jesus Christ. Surely, you have heard of him, Haven't you? You might have even used his name in vain or not thanked him for anything although he provided it all for you. That's right, what a surprise to you, he is your Creator. He created everything around you and everything that has been created is made with the stuff he created.
Let me ask you this. If you were to meet him in all his Glory would you still run to your idols for comfort? Would you still complain all day to him? Your attitude I would think would be different.
Well, he is all around you and if you have a relationship with him, he knows all about it. He is inside of you, in your spiritual heart.
Certainly, you can't get away from him, even if you don't want to have anything to do with him. He will pursue you to your deathbed. It will never be over with him until its over.
Why not take full advantage of him now? He doesn't mind! He is your Friend.
On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords (Revelation 19:16)
