Better than a Pot of Gold (Romans 3:22-24)

   This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.  There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God , and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:22-24)

 Please don’t miss the beauty and simplicity of these few verses.  This verses to me are the key to what God can do for your life.  It means basically that all that you have to do in order to be counted a just person to God is to believe in Jesus Christ.  Put aside your own ideas about what religion is.  God through these verses is saying, you don’t have to do anything to please him.  The works that come after you believe are not really works but come out of your obedient heart to him. Obedience comes through his Word and what he reveals to you.  What I want to say is that nothing we do with God should not be done out of duty but out of pleasure.  It is a partnership between God and you.  

There is no difference between humans.  We are all in the same bag before God.  Because of our very nature we are all sinners and none of us deserves what he is about to give us next in verse 24.

We can be justified (made to be just) freely (for free) he just gives it to us, and we don’t have to pay him back for it.  What is at stake is huge!  What he gives is free for eternal life rather than eternal death in the dungeon of Hell. Just by one decision we make we are affected for eternity.

We all like free deals at our favorite store.  Those deals only cause us to buy more.  But with God the freedom comes with us, and we are no longer slaves to the things of the world.

Grace is free but not cheap. It came with the price of Jesus’s sacrifice on the Cross and that was enough for all of us.  So why would we say “NO” to this freedom which is better than gold.

Changes are happening

 Due to unforeseen circumstances I will not be posting for a while I will keep you updated.  In fact, we have too many changes happening in our lives and one of them is to visit our grandchildren.  We have now 3 grandchildren compare to just one a year ago and we have to keep them all happy. It is a big job being grandparents and we are the only ones who can do it for ours little ones. We have more changes happening in the future which will impact the way I blog.  I will keep you posted.  Please pray for us for safe trip.

The Fruit of the Spirit...Patience?

  As I was being tested, patience was required, and I was waiting with much complaining.   Then my wife encouraged me to read the Fruit of the Spirit out of the Amplified version of the Bible.   So, I did and here it is: “But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others],   joy [inner] peace , patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting],   kindness, goodness,   faithfulness,   gentleness,   self-control.   Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23) These verses not only apply to us as we go through our daily life but especially as we wait for the Lord’s return.   How we act while we wait for him does matter and it is very important.   We learn as we go through trials.   For a lot of people, the word “patience” is not welcome in their vocabulary, and I can tell by my own life I am not the only one who finds it difficult to act well while we wait.   We can all wait as this
