The Faithfulness of God's Word (Psalm 119:137-144)

137. O Lord, you are righteous, and your decisions are fair.  138. Your decrees are perfect; they are entirely worthy of our trust.  139. I am overwhelmed with rage, for my enemies have disregarded your words.  140. Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much.  141. I am insignificant and despised, but I don't forget your commandments.  142. Your justice is eternal, and your law is perfectly true.  143. As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.  144. Your decrees are always fair; help me to understand them, that I may live. (Psalm 119:137-144)

1) God's Word is Perfect (v.137-138)

Assuredly, even in adverse circumstances, his word to us is fair.  While, in the midst of our displeasure, he reminds us that he is right.  May we always remember that he is always the Captain of our ship.  And so, he is entirely worthy of our trust.

2) God's Word is not mocked (v.139-140)

Even though, our enemies let the Word of God fall to the ground without bearing fruit.  They disregard it!  God's promises have been trusted and tested throughout the ages by generations of people.  Assuredly, we, too, can love them for they are true!

3) Strangers on earth (v.141-142)

Although, insignificant and despised among the majority, each of us is well-known to our heavenly Father.  Indeed, he is the One who keeps account of our numbers.  As a result, let's keep record of his commandments.

 4) Finding comfort in the Word (v.143-144)

Presently, with stress and uncertainties, God's word is stable enough to be our source of joy!  Not for lack of perfection or fairness, with his help we can understand him.  Nonetheless, God is not the author of the evil that happens in our lives.

Conclusion

Finally, we like to question God's decisions for our lives.  However, they are best for our lives.  His decrees are always perfect and he stands on his every promise and word for our lives.  In conclusion, he perceives our future and he has a definite plan for us.  His decisions are void of compromise and they are clear in every way.
